Training

Partners: University of Pavia, Oxford University

Annual training courses
A series of annual residential training Courses are run in Pavia. The aim of these Courses is to bring to a (mainly biological) audience a picture of the statistical methodology relevant to the project. This includes methods for the analysis of data generated by high-throughput platforms, from genomics, DNA methylation data, transcriptomics, metabonomics and proteomics.

Past workshops have covered 'Statistical Genetics with Mendel’, and ‘Statistical Analysis of Genetic and Gene Expression Data’and 'Statistical Analysis of Metabonomic and Proteomic Data’. A final workshop on novel statistical methods for the integration and analysis of the data types produced within MolPAGE and their impact on epidemiology will be held at the end of the project.

Mobility awards
The aim of the mobility program is to disseminate expertise and knowledge acquired via MolPAGE mainly within the consortium through the provision of mobility fellowships. These can support places on the annual training courses, or training exchanges between consortium partners (typically 1 to 4 weeks in length).

Science Workshops
These events bring together consortium scientiists with external experts in the filed to disucss project progress and to ensure that approaches remain cuttign edge and appropriate.
