The subject areas covered in the first part of the course were; data quality assessment, experimental design, data pre-processing and normalization, model-based data analysis, differential expression testing and statistical issues in multiple testing. In the second part, emphasis was given to statistical problems involved in the integration of DNA sequence and gene expression data, with the aim of uncovering important functional dependencies. The third section covered methods for representing complex multivariate distributions in the form of networks, or graphs, with an underlying probabilistic interpretation in terms of conditional independence. The final part focused on advanced applications of the methods as the generation of integrated models of regulatory element to further understand the regulation of gene expression in human disease contexts.

The Course instructors were internationally known experts in microarray studies, gene expression data, model selection, graphical modeling and Bayesian variable selection techniques, including MolPAGE partners.  [Less]
